Why Linux is a Good
Choice for Online Messaging
There are many different types of operating systems available to people today, and
nearly all of them all have some form of online messaging system. Windows, Mac, Linux, Unix…all are options for
using this online messaging. However, Linux is certainly an excellent choice for online messaging for quite a few different
reasons. Of course, if you find that you love using Linux so much, you can purchase one of the many different
Linux Shirts that are available on the internet to show how much you enjoy using Linux as an
operating system.
Why does Linux make a great choice for online messaging? One of the main reasons is that it’s open source. This
means that the source data of Linux is open. If you have studied how Linux works or if you are willing to learn how
to manipulate the source code, you can make Linux work in just about any way you want. This allows you to modify
Linux programs as you see fit. Programmers often find that Linux is a great operating system for them since they
can make all of these little tweaks and changes. Other operating systems, including Windows and Mac OS, simply do
not allow programmers to customize the operating system to such a great extent.
Of course, online messaging using Linux is just one of the many things you can do with the operating system.
However, it does have some limitations. Most software is written with either Windows or Macintosh OS in mind. This
means there is a limited amount of programs, applications, and games available for the Linux or Unix operating
systems. Because of this, many people who run Linux computers also either have a partition that allows them to run
Windows on the same computer or have a second computer for Windows or Macintosh.
